A comedy about a has-been divorcee basketball coach who is asked to run the local high school girls basketball team. Down on his luck and unable to do right with his teenage daughter, this is an unexpected chance at redemption. Set in suburban Indiana, the film stars Sam Rockwell as Bill Greaves, an adult misfit recruited by the local high school principal (Rob Corddry) to coach the school's floundering girls' basketball team. Initially retreating from what appears to be a hopeless situation, Bill perseveres and manages to help the team and its captain (Emma Roberts) ratchet up its competitive spirit, while the girls offer Bill a renewed life focus.
